Is there such a thing as a reliable narrator? 

Welcome to Grace's kingdom! Her creative outlet! Her writer's room! Her bedroom? The audience enters a beautifully designed set in Summerhall's Former Women’s Locker Room. Grace (Amaia Naima Aguinaga) is busy setting up her space in a traverse set-up with a projector at the other end of the entrance. There's a bed with a shopping trolley headrest in the middle and cobwebbed art displayed with red thread and writing cornering the room. Grace is writing the script in real time with flashbacks to parts of her friendship with Eli (Francis Nunnery) in a non-linear timeline. With mixed media including projections and puppetry sprinkled throughout, we learn that Grace is experimenting with her writer's process while she is processing something. How accurate is her version of events with Eli? As they stand opposite sides of the stage she shapes a number on the floor with red string: he sees a six, she sees a nine - a reminder that there are two versions to every story but as she is the writer this is her version and she has all the control. 

Amaia Naima Aguinaga is such a charismatic performer gracefully leading us through this play. Francis Nunnery is superb and the chemistry between the two is electric. Hannah Caplan's writing and directing is incredible and definitely someone to keep an eye out for in the future.
