Workshops and Creative Sessions

Seedlings is now running regular print workshops and creative sessions. 

Seed Sessions

We had our first sold-out Seed Session in August, an evening of creative exploration which culminated in a one-off zine of poems, drawings, collage and prose made by the attendants.

The next Seed Session will be on Thursday 25 September (and the following on 23 October).

On alternate months we will be running poetry nights, and first up is the launch of Lucie Ailsa’s Papertrail.

Print Workshops

Our first ever print workshops are in September. Our founder Will J. Wood will teach typesetting and printing for people new to letterpress or keen for a refresher. We will cover:

• Page design (with Adobe InDesign)

• Typesetting metal type

• Proofing

• Printing

• Other tips and tricks

He requests you bring a short poem of no longer than five lines. Each attendant will print five impressions, and we will post them to you once they’re dry, or you can return the next day to collect them.

If you are printing your own short poetry and would like a full print run instead of just five prints, we’ll be happy to print those with you! Please add a donation to your ticket for:

• Twenty prints (£10)

• Fifty prints (£20)

These prints will be yours to keep which you are free to sell on or treasure! We can also organise this on the day, if you want to decide once you see the first prints.
