DESPERATE WEE GAY BOY by Fraser Kelsey — Edinburgh Fringe Review

Celebrate Ollie's birthday and 'birthday boxing day' as he takes you on one wild night out, roaring through Soho night clubs: there's dancing, drinking, one night stands and a sweaty gay sauna. Fraser Kelsey tells his story with such charm the show feels like catching up with your best friend on FaceTime. A wee gay Scot fresh in London, he is just trying to have fun: dancing to Charli xcx with his bestie Siobhan (Morgan Ferguson), but he discovers maybe he's more needed as a friend than as a wingman on the dancefloor – but does he want to be?

'I’m feeling sexy, I’m feeling flirty…' — Ollie launches himself on a grand tour of queer nightlife where the hilarity and chaos is matched by the growing sense of rootlessness. The one liners dazzle too — at one point he stands 'dick length apart' from a hunk in a club; then hungover the 'sun rays are bitch slapping my face'. With a physical energy and acres of charm that immediately win over the audience, DESPERATE WEE GAY BOY is a timely, vulnerable and fun tale from the streets of the gay scene.
