Chloe Petts: Big Naturals — Edinburgh Fringe Review

Lad culture affects all of us, even, argues Chloe Petts, masc lesbians. There will be people here, she opens, thinking she's that 'polite looking gay man from Have I Got News For You,' but in fact growing up she spent her time in mosh pits to avoid the presence of calm, sweet parents. It was like when Billy Elliot first saw ballet. She took it all on: page 3, football, emotional avoidance. But now, she's reflecting on that time—in her life and in our culture—through an hour of charming standup, a queer gaze at (and from within) toxic masculinity. The title, 'big naturals' come from a friend telling Petts to name the show after what she loves. Dating bisexuals is the hilarious second act of the show: she tells us how she asks, wrapped in blankets, her latest bisexual baby gay of the time when she dated men, like a story from the war.
